A Day in the Life of a Student Events Board Employee.

The time has come everyone, Birthday Ball is this Saturday! This night is a ton of fun for everyone, but only a few know how much hard work goes into the event to transform the JFC for a Journey to Atlantis. As a member of the Student Events Board, SEB for short, we are preparing for Birthday Ball all year. However, the physical set-up for the dance began yesterday, Wednesday, and will last until Saturday afternoon. From early in the morning until past dinner time, SEB will be hard at work in the JFC to make everyone’s Birthday Ball wishes come true.

Set-up began Wednesday afternoon in the practically empty JFC and boy does that place look HUGE when it’s empty. So far, we have been taping down mats so that the dance floor will be smooth and unmovable. The rest of the day will included tasks such as picking up fencing and building the stage for the DJ. Between the next couple days, the JFC will be totally transformed in time for the dance.

On Saturday we will make our finishing touches before the DJ and catering arrive later in the day! By then it’ll almost be time for the big dance. Hope everyone is prepped and ready because it’s going to be a night you won’t want to miss. Make sure to arrive early because the food won’t last all night, plus why waste time by not being there? The dance starts at 8:00pm and goes until midnight with a midnight breakfast following the dance. I can’t wait to see everyone on the dance floor as we Journey to Atlantis!
