As all of you probably know Valentine’s Day is this week, but more importantly it’s Galentine’s Day! Galentine’s Day falls the day before Valentine’s Day (February 13th) and was made popular by Leslie Knope on the TV show “Parks and Recreation”. It’s all about celebrating female friendship aka your gal pals. This Galentine’s Day and Valentine’s Day don’t worry if you do not have a significant other, because this year let’s focus on self-love. Let’s be all about treating ourselves instead of relying on others to do so. And if you do have a significant other, you can and should also practice self-love this year. To do so I’ll give you a few tips for treating yourself this season.
This Galentine’s Day and Valentine’s Day you can treat yourself to a nice dinner with your friends. Personally, I did this last year with my single friends and we had a blast drowning ourselves in chocolate lava cake and spinach dip. If going out isn’t your style you can order in, or better yet cook yourself something yummy. Once you’re in for the night why not have an at-home spa? Pick up some face masks and nail polish and get ready to relax. Pop in a couple movies and make some popcorn for a nice movie night while your nails are drying. And if you’re really feeling wild bake some desserts (or buy the pre-cut Valentine’s Day Pillsbury Sugar Cookies) to put a sweet end to the night. Always remember, you do not need a significant other to celebrate this season because this year we are loving ourselves! #TreatYOSelf
