On December 6th at the Cain Athletic Center, you can come support the sisters of Alpha Omicron Pi and the WC men and women’s Shoot-Out basketball game to raise awareness for Juvenile Arthritis. The women’s game starts at 6:00pm and the men’s game will follow at 8:00pm. I discussed with Alpha Omicron Pi’s philanthropy chairs, Virginia Parker ’19 and Sam Snyder ’20, about some of the goals the sorority and the teams hope to achieve with their Shootout game. “We want as many people as possible to come out to support our national philanthropy. We will be bluing out the entire Cain gym and encourage attendees to wear their blue, too” Sam said. There will be concessions, a raffle, AO pie in the face, a performance from Sho’troupe and even Gus the Goose will be making a special appearance! “We want people to understand why this is an important cause,” said Virginia, “we are hoping this event will increase the knowledge and awareness about juvenile arthritis while giving support to our Washington College basketball teams!” Many children and adults are affected by juvenile arthritis and a goal of the sisters of AOII is to make a positive difference in some of their lives! Come rock your blue, support the sisters of AOII and cheer on your Washington College basketball teams for a victory!
