Happy Halloween!

As almost all of you know, today is October 31st, or in other words, the much-anticipated Halloween. I have found that Halloween is a fan favorite not only among younger kids, but especially among teens and young adults. Nothing seems to get young people going like a haunting holiday surrounded by costumes, candy, and of course spooks. I’m sure all of your Instagram feeds and snapchat stories have been filled with various “halloweekend” posts. It amazes me how many different costumes people could come up with for a weekend long event. Personally, I was a tourist one night, fanny pack and all. My favorite costume by far was a group of girls dressed as the Heathers. Nothing screams Halloween like some 80s cult classic film characters. The trend of being athletes did not retire itself this year as both guys and girls opted to throw on their favorite jersey for an effortless, yet classic costume. After all of the weekend spookiness, I almost had forgotten that the real Halloween was yet to come.

This year Halloween falls on a Tuesday, which may cause some concerns in the eyes of students. Just how exactly do you celebrate a night of ghouls and goblins when you have class the next morning? For most people, this concern will probably only dance through their minds for a hot second before proceeding to put on a costume. However, if you aren’t the type to go out on “school” night, then why not gather a couple friends, get a huge bag of candy, and crash on the couch to watch Halloween classics. Whether you go out or stay in, make Halloween ’17 one for the books!
