What to Look Out for in Fall

October is such a fun-filled month! It’s been a little over a month since we’ve been back to WAC and we can really start getting into some big fall events! Here are some of the best events to keep an eye out for this coming month:

1. ZTA’s Pink Week and Big Man on Campus: On October 22nd, the sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha will be putting on their annual Pink Week! At the end of this week, on October 27th, you can come see Big Man on Campus where some of the best guys perform funny acts in order to win the title of Big Man! All the proceeds will be going towards the ZTA’s philanthropy, Breast Cancer Awareness!

2. Alpha Chi’s Purple Out: This month is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which is the philanthropy of the sisters of Alpha Chi! In order to bring awareness about this issue, the Alpha Chi’s will be doing a Purple Out on October 25th at the volleyball game. This Purple Out will allow everybody at the game to wear purple and to recognize the women who have been affected by domestic violence.

3. Kappa Sig’s Pancake Breakfast: On October 21st, the Kappa Sig’s will be having their 11th annual pancake breakfast at Emmanuel Church in downtown Chestertown. ALL the proceeds will be split evenly between the Military Hero Campaign to support military veterans and their families AND the Prostate Cancer Research at University of Virginia! This is an amazing event with TWO amazing causes and great food!

4. Major Barbara and Yellow Face: Take a trip to the theatre to go see these two student run shows!! Early in the month, Major Barbara is running from October 6th, 7th and 8th and the play Yellow Face follows later in the month on October 27th and 28th! You can reserve your tickets on the WAC theatre and drama page to make sure you get to see both of these amazing shows!

5. Shoremal: On October 7th, get your best dress on and get ready to dance the night away! Shoremal is the new and improved homecoming, where all the alumni come back to celebrate all their fun times here at WAC! As the SEB said on their Facebook page, “Same great dance, even better name, more WAC pride!”
