Last Friday, Professor Prud’homme and his students traveled to Mount Vernon to visit the home of George Washington. Along with students from American University, WAC students spent the day exploring the grounds, attending a lecture from a Mount Vernon historian, and also got the opportunity to hear from Martha Washington herself. Students from political science classes, philosophy classes, and first year seminar classes all thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Not only was it some students first time going, it was a great experience for all students to go to the home of our school’s name sake. The house itself is incredible to walk through and to see where a powerful man in history once lived was truly remarkable. If you haven’t had the chance to go see Mount Vernon, go do it!
