If you have not noticed Daylight Savings Time occurred very early on Sunday morning. When the clocks hit 2:00AM they immediately turned back to 1:00AM and we all got to live that hour over again. As you were walking up from a fun Halloween night you actually got an extra hour of sleep. If you were wondering why you have been walking up before your alarm and going to bed at a seemingly reasonable hour you can thank Daylight Savings Time.
Now that the weather is getting colder (it eventually will) getting to sleep in an extra hour will be magical. Staying in your cozy warm bed and hour longer will give you the energy to take on the day. Consequently the nights will get shorter. The sun will start setting earlier and earlier. The nights will become longer and thus more fun. More time for movies and lying in your bed, more time for parties, and of course more time for sleep.
Without Daylight Savings Time the mornings would be dreadful. They would be dark and dreary and almost impossible to get through. Thanks to a lovely little event that happens twice a year it makes the different seasons bearable. “Falling Behind” in the fall is perhaps the more pleasant of the two because of the extra hour gained. So enjoy this Daylight Savings Time while you can and take advantage of the extra beauty rest.
Remember to think of Daylight Savings Time while you are snug in your bed instead of out in the cold and sitting in a tiresome morning class!
