A Trip to Echostage

If your weekends are getting boring or you just want a change of scenery, these cities are a great place to go. From hundreds of different restaurants and fast food places to cool museums and events, the city has it all. If you are looking for a fun and exciting way to spend an evening I suggest attending a show. This past weekend my friends and I visited D.C. to see some of our favorite DJs at Echostage. This venue hosts a lot of different artists and has many options to choose from. Echostage is equipped with a bar, VIP section, a smoking area, and a dance floor. My friends and I stayed with our friends at UMD, College Park, which is about 15 minutes form Echostage. So we did not have to worry about parking and finding our way we used Uber to get us to and from the event safely. The shows usually run from about 9PM to 4AM (you do not have to get there right when it starts) so make sure you rest up prior to an event so you can put all your energy into having fun and dancing. Depending on which artist you see going to Echostage is a relatively cheap excursion. My ticket cost $25 and our transportation was very cheap because it was split between all my friends. Going with a group of friends is the way to go! Not only is it a fun time to share with everyone but you also keep each other safe. Although Echostage has many security guards and safety personal at the event it is still very beneficial to have people looking out for you. It is easy to get separated because there are usually a lot of people and it is dark and it is a lot easier to find a whole group of your friends rather than just one.

This was my first time at Echostage and I had so much fun. We saw Dvbbs and they were absolutely amazing. At Echostage you can get very close to who ever is playing and you can really see them. The atmosphere is always very welcoming and the people are so friendly. No matter whom I was standing next to in the crowd they were always happy and dancing with me. Security and the employees were very nice and did their best to make sure everyone was safe. My friend, who has gone to shows before, told me to always thank security whenever you see them walking through the crowd of crazy fans because they do such a good job.

I cannot wait to go back to Echostage and see some more of my favorite artists! I recommend going because it is such a nice break from being here at WAC. If you do go make sure to have a plan! Know where you are staying, how you are getting to and from the venue, and whom you are going with. Also remember to make smart decisions and do not be afraid to ask security for help if you need it. Finally remember to take good picture so you will have something to Instagram the next day!
