It is only the second week of classes and dining hall food may already be getting old for some people. It may seem like the same old things are being served everyday and there is nothing special about what you are eating. Adjusting from home cooked meals to dining hall food can seem like a big change, but eventually you will get use to it. You will discover things about the dining hall that can make meals much more exciting. A few easy tricks will turn your dinner from drab to fab, and you will not be stuck in the same old routine of salads and sandwiches everyday. First of all you should take advantage of the sandwich line. Take your time and look at all the ingredients because there are so many different options. Use the Panini Press the to make a delicious toasted turkey, bacon, and pesto wrap. Or make your very own three cheese grilled cheese. Add chicken tenders from the Grill or Kitchen to any wrap to shake things up. Are you a vegetarian? If so, try the grilled veggies at the sandwich line or pick your own vegetables from the salad bar. If you are tired of wraps and bread being used for your sandwiches then try a toasted bagel for the perfect change. Those working at the sandwich line will gladly add whatever you want to any sandwich. When the salad bar options seem limited look around at the Grill or Kitchen for other add-on ideas and you can even make pasta salad by adding what you like to your noodles. Or spruce up those fries by adding cheese from the salad bar and putting them in the microwave for a few seconds. There are so many different ways to make your meal special. Do not be afraid to explore all the tricks and options the dining hall has to offer and do not settle for a boring meal. It is your meal, so make it your own!
