The spring semester is finally coming to a close! With classes winding down, final exams being handed out, and theses being presented, we can almost taste the end. Only two more weeks! Finishing the semester means that we can pack up our dorm rooms and head home. This may sound like a daunting task, since we always seem to end up with a greater amount of possessions than we started with. Packing can be discouraging for some but here are some tips to get you on your way home soon!
- Start early – Start organizing your things now. Packing slowly will minimize the amount of work you have to do on the day you move out. This way, you can take your time and do not have to stress about forgetting anything. You can also use this as a short study break.
- Have a friend help you – It has been shown that men are better at packing cars than women. If you are a girl, have a guy friend help you pack your car! Friends are great for extra help carrying large objects such as refrigerators. They can also help speed up the process of packing your car.
- Stay organized – This will be beneficial when you get home. If you keep your things organized when packing, you will know where everything is when you get home (not that unpacking is any easier).
- Pack safely – Whether you have a quick drive home or a road trip planned, make sure everything is safely packed. Anything outside the car should be tied down securely and try to ensure that all lines of vision for the driver are clear.
