Tonight at the Trinity Lutheran Church, KA held its annual pasta dinner! Each year, the Kappa Alpha fraternity hosts students and the residents of Chestertown to raise money for their philanthropy, the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The brothers made the entire dinner, and they are pretty good chefs! The menu included salad, all you can eat pasta, and breadsticks. This year they even offered a delivery service for those who wanted to participate but had too much homework. The church was set up nicely for all the people who came. New members took orders and served food while the brothers were busy cooking in the kitchen. Italian music was even played to create a restaurant atmosphere.
The brothers put a lot of work into their pasta dinner. Tom Koven ’17, brother of KA, said, “We started preparing at four today. It was great to see the Washington College community out even though it could have been warmer.” It certainly was a cold day today but that did not stop people from showing up and getting some pasta. Taylor Hineline ‘18, sister of Alpha Omicron Pi, went to the dinner with a group of her friends. She told me, “It was awesome and fun to hang out with friends while supporting a good cause.”
If you missed out on the amazing food, there is always next year! Come out next year and support the fraternity and their philanthropy while eating a delicious meal. Next time I’ll be sure to go with an empty stomach!
