How To Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

St. Paddy'sday blogHappy St. Patrick’s Day! This spring holiday has surely brought out the Irish spirit all across campus today. Even if you aren’t of Irish descent, you can still participate in celebrating. St. Paddy’s Day is super fun because there are no rules! Anyone can join in on the festivities, from decorations to food. All you need is some friends and some shamrock spirit.

There are many ways to celebrate with food, drinks, and all things green! Most importantly, be sure to wear green unless you want to get pinched. Grab anything green you can find or dress head to toe in your best Irish garb! In the dining hall, treat yourself to some St. Patrick’s Day dessert or have a bowl of Lucky Charms. Try to see if you can eat all green foods! Tom Brennan ’17 said, “I enjoy throwing on some Irish music and eating the classic Irish meal; corned beef, potatoes, and cabbage.” Today is a beautiful day so go outside and later tonight, you can continue the celebration at O’Connors Irish Pub if you are old enough. You can also gather your friends and get a Shamrock Shake from McDonald’s or get something green from Rita’s. Keep the party going all day long with Irish music and famous Irish movies, like the Disney classic The Luck of the Irish.

So get out there and get your green on! St. Patrick’s Day only comes once a year so make the best out of it. Get in the spirit and have fun!
