How was Your Break?

Winter break came and went in the blink of an eye. Even if you are glad to be back at WAC, being able to sleep in one’s own bed and being with family and friends was a great perk of break. Hopefully your break was long enough to refresh you whether you got to relax, travel, or go to work. Nevertheless, winter break is one of the best times of the year. It gives you time away from your friends and schoolwork, and some much-needed time with family. The five weeks away from school should have left you wanting to come back with a smile on your face, or maybe at least a smirk!

Break can be a great time to catch up on work, Netflix, and fun! However my break was not vey thrilling, so I asked a few students what they did during their time off. Tom Brennan ‘17, a member of SEB said, “All I did over break was work.” Biology and Spanish major, Laura King ’17, said, “I went to work, did yoga, and went ice skating. And I volunteered at the hospital.” Tess Garraty ’17, a member of Best Buddies, had a very exciting break. Tess said, “Over break I got to go to Zoo Lights at the National Zoo in D.C. and it was amazing! The animal houses were open so you could see all the animals sleeping. The lights were all over the zoo and it was really beautiful!”

So no matter what you did over break, I’m sure it was a nice change of scenery to get you ready for a new semester. I know I feel rested, rejuvenated, and ready, thanks to a long winter break.
