The Trials and Tribulations of Researching on the Internet

907fd4d4adabf26068a5820e10fc43b0Navigating the Internet can be a tricky thing what with the increase in moving from paper copy to digital. Now, you can find websites that host digital forms of newspapers, magazines, reviews, academic articles, and more. We no longer have to sit in libraries for hours on end looking for sources in dusty old books. However, how do we know that the sources we find on the Internet are credible? With the increase in such websites as Wikipedia, where anyone can edit the content, and satirical websites, where readers jump down the rabbit hole finding outrageous “facts”, how do we wade out of the bog and find actual academic sources? Well, close your “The Onion” tab on your computer and only open it for good laughs in the future because those websites are satirical not factual. Next, never click on the Wikipedia link that comes up as the first result in your Google search. You don’t know who may have edited the information to make you look like a fool. Now, lets look up some solid sources, shall we? Now, if you definitely prefer using the Internet to look up sources instead of going to the library, I have some helpful websites for you.
